About Joty
I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC #18751) and have a degree in MEd Counselling Psychology from SFU. I have had additional training in EFT and Gottman’s method, which are both evidence-based approaches in counselling.
Most of the times my clients arrive to therapy feeling alone, overwhelmed and don’t know how to cope. They have tried their best to deal with their challenges, and sometimes to ignore them, but there is a feeling of “stuckness”. Together with you, I help facilitate coping, which brings a sense of clarity, relief and empowerment for my clients. Healing is rarely a linear journey. However, I help my clients to hold, unpack, and process the difficult experiences they may be having so that they don’t have to do this alone, and so that they develop confidence within themselves knowing that they have skills to cope with challenges. I believe in the power of connection and safety in counselling practice which brings transformative experiences for clients.
